Looking for some fun vintage shopping this weekend???

My friend Lisa is having a great vintage sale at her house on Saturday October 23rd from 9 to 4.  She's got the cutest apartment over their garage just filled with fun stuff.  Everything from vintage clothing to holiday decor.  Lots of dishes, glassware and cool kitsch too.  

 

Her house is located at 16038 Quigley Rd in Sycamore.  Quigley is off of Airport Rd.  Right across the street from Lisa's house is Mabel's house.  Mabel is a long time antiques dealer and she is having a huge auction of her many years worth of treasures.  So it's a two for one.  Take a drive out to Quigley Rd and hit both of those sales.  You'll be glad you did!

Cheap Cheap Excellent Work Tables

Hey y'all....Just wanted to give you a heads up that Jenny over at Maurices has some really nice display tables that she is selling for only 25 dollars each.  That is practically giving them away.  I just don't have room for them in the shop or I would have taken a few of them off her hands.

They are lighter colored wood and have two levels.  Like what they would have displayed t-shirts on.  They might be on wheels.  They are super sturdy.  I'm guestimating that they are about 5 feet long and 3 to 4 feet wide.  Currently she has about 5 of them to sell.  They are getting ready to make the big move across the street to their new location next to Target.  

I'm thinking these tables would be perfect in a basement or craft room.  Big enough to cut fabric on or do scrapbooking etc.  Jenny said to call her at Maurices and if she isn't in just leave a message for her.  Maurices # is 758-5688.  You won't be able to remove them from the building for a couple of weeks.  And of course you'll have to provide your own muscle and vehicle too. 

If you aren't interested in tables you should still visit Maurices anyway.  They have super cute clothes and the girls that work there are the sweetest.  They used to be our neighbors downtown and we sure do miss having them be a part of the downtown district but we wish them nothing but success in their new high profile location.

For giving me the best laugh I've had in weeks!

Oh Lordy....I had a hard time keeping the camera straight I was laughing so much while trying to take this picture.  I think it was Courtney's dead pan stare underneath her big bushy eyebrows that got me.  She refused to smile because according to her....these glasses require a serious face.  

I just love all of my moxie and mmhg girls.  They are always willing to  indulge me with some playtime.  I asked them if they would put the glasses on for a photo and they didn't even hesitate to say yes.   I told them it was for the blog and they still agreed.  Now that's takin' one for the team!!
