Pineapple Is My Friend

Pineapple is my favorite fruit...yet I never indulged in it often because it is a pain in the you know what to clean and slice.  And yes, I really didn't get pineapple duty very often because Mr Bob has taken over in the kitchen because no task is too big or too small for his boundless energy....but even he didn't enjoy pineapple prep.

My friend Sharon, who remembered (I am always so impressed with the little things people remember about others) that I once mentioned liking pineapple, gave me the best gadget ever as part of my birthday gift.  The Vacu Vin Pineapple Slicer.  I had heard of its magical powers from other friends, so I was thrilled to receive one as a gift.

This whole process probably took 30 seconds.  I highly recommend this gadget!  Thanks Sharon....you are wonderful and kind.  Thanks for remembering I liked pineapple.  Now you and pineapple are my friends.

Magically Delicious

 

For whatever reason, I'm not in the habit of buying my groceries at Target.  So I am probably the last person on earth to discover this scrumptious party mix.  Every time I'm at a party (which admittedly isn't often) I'm one of those obnoxious people who systematically eats all of the good stuff out of the party mix while leaving behind a wimpy and rejected pile of stuff I deem unworthy of my mouth.  The things I might leave behind include: raisins or dried fruit of any kind, sun chips, chex cereal, macadamia or brazil nuts, and fake chocolate candies mimicing delicious m&m's.   

This party mix by Archer Farms label has my perfect tri-fecta.  Peanuts (both roasted and honey) skinny pretzels (don't like the fat ones) and the ultimate in deliciousness....sesame sticks.  The label reads tasty food...tasty price.  I totally agree!  I think this 26 oz jar set me back $3.99.  We purchased this one about 10 days before Christmas and it is still 1/3 full. 

I can't even claim to have discovered it myself.  I found it the way I find most things in life.  Thru a friend.  My dearest friend Monica brought along a tub of it on our trip up North this fall.  She always finds the tastiest stuff.
